Why we cannot let go of friends

It is sunday again and I am here watching yet another rerun of friends. Becomes very difficult to avoid if all three english GECs air it every day.

And its just not me most of my friends ... 30 something moms, single, everyone still seeks solace in friends, gives parallels with friends at all instances and want to live a simple uncomplicated friends life. or is it that simple ? Every pop psychologist worth a penny offers the same opinion that everyone desires that idyllic lifestyle with no worries, beautiful people, easily available centre sofas in coffee shops, studio apartments and of course friends who are always there for you.

I do not think thats the reason why I watch friends at least coz I have plenty of friends unfortunately scattered all around the world whom I meet whenever they land in town.; but somehow are always everpresen when I need them.And thank God for them because they make life liveable. And I do not drink coffee so the center seat does not matter anyways !

Why we watch friends...is simply the nostalgia value of the same ! Remember the days...when we watched season 1 all in one night, when we quarreled and made up while watching friends, when we insisted that the friends theme song be played at every party, when we settled to watch episodes as a break from studying,
when we tried to fit all our friends into the friends characters (seriously, which one of us has not played which friends character are you on facebook) and imagined ourselves as the 7th or 8th friend in the sitcom...well I could go on....but getting too nostalgic right now.

Back for good...I hope

Yes...after hibernating for the last 3 years ...I logged into blogger.com to read and contribute to a shared blog started by good friend the perky pirate! Then started reading my own ol stuff and realized that I was not half as bad...
So here wired world ...You will not be spared again ! I have decided to put my E71 to good use in my commute time and broadcast out to the world.
All the old posts have now gone except the Leh ones - reminds me of better times gone by and the fact that I have to get my Canon IS S2 repaired. Its a lovely camera which desperately needs some TLC at the service center and a good outing...
